Applied Behavior Analysis uses the scientific principles of learning and motivation in order to efficiently teach. ABA is a science dedicated to the understanding and improvement of human behavior. ABA therapists identify behaviors that interfere with normal developmental processes, teach functional replacement behavior, and teach communication, social, adaptive, and cognitive skill where a child demonstrates delay. It focuses on the idea that the consequences of what we do affect what we learn and what we do in the future.

3. Establish ways to measure changes and improvements
4. Evaluate where you are now
5. Learn new skills and/or learn how to avoid negative behaviors
6. Regularly review your progress
7. Decide whether or not further behavior modification is necessary
The methods of behavior analysis have been used and studied for decades. They have helped many kinds of learners gain different skills from healthier lives styles to learning a new language. In ABA, learning and intervention is individualized. Decisions about intervention are based on each kids data. ABA is commonly practiced as a therapeutic intervention for individuals with autism, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). ABA also helps transfer skills and behaviors from one situation to another, controlling situations where negative behaviors arise and minimizing negative behaviors. For young and old, ABA can help individuals manage some of the lifestyle challenges that accompany many mental and physical health conditions.
